In a frank and bold discussion on the radio station BBC Asian Network, London, film publicist Dale Bhagwagar said he couldn't understand "why there is so much hoopla about Shahid and Kareena parting ways. It might prove to be good for the film's publicity, but the hullabaloo is quite unnecessary. Our entertainment media is simply aping the West by trying to peep into the personal lives of stars 24x7. Bollywood doesn't really need this. If the films are good, they are bound to run. And as far as 'Jab We Met' goes, it's a well-packaged product. Both Shahid and Kareena have matured as actors, though it would have done the film some more good, if their onscreen chemistry was still better, and if they looked less like siblings.""In fact, with this film, Kareena has risen to be one the best bets Bollywood has for the future. She might be direct competition to Rani Mukherji and Aishwarya Rai now," he added. Read the rest of this entry »

Mumbai, Mallika Sherawat has moved into Tabu's territory, replacing the latter in writer-turned-director Sanjay Chhel's latest venture "Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam".The closest that the two actors have come was when Mallika's "Murder" was released alongside Tabu's "Meenaxi" on the same Friday. n the past too, the industry has had some incredible casting makeovers, like Tabu stepping into Rani Mukerji's space in Mira Nair's "The Namesake" and Lisa Ray getting into Deepa Mehta's "Water", originally earmarked for Nandita Das.But how did this one happen? Apparently the producers were unwilling to pay the price Tabu asked for. Obviously the role has undergone critical modifications to suit altered conditions.Chhel disagrees: "I'm a writer. Mumbai, Actress Kangana Ranaut is confident about being pitched against Priyanka Chopra in Madhur Bhandarkar's upcoming venture "Fashion"."Barring Anurag Basu's 'Metro', most of my films have been solo-heroine films revolving around my character. This is the first time I'm co-starring with another actress. I'm not insecure about it. Why should I be? Priyanka and I have distinct personalities and that's why Madhur has signed us to play the two very different characters," Kangana told IANS.But Priyanka has a reputation of emerging as trumps whenever pitched against another actress like against Kareena Kapoor in "Aitraaz" and Lara Dutta in"Andaaz". Looks like Priyanka Chopra wants to limit herself only to action pack roles. After Don its Drona which will show her in an action pack role. She will not be doing the powerful action pack stunts in Drona as she did in Don but yes we will definitely see her in action again. It is heard that Priyanka has hurt herself on the sets of Drona, she was badly injured while doing a risky scene. She was learning a new Sikh fighting art called Gagta when she injured herself. She will be playing the role of Abhishek’s bodyguard in the movie. It is a Goldie Behl movie and Priyanka will be doing some cool action stunts. Read the rest of this entry »
