Percept Picture Company and director Nagesh Kukunoor have decided to sign John Abraham for their film 'Aashayein'. The movie's story talks about Rahul who is highly obsessed with gambling, but finds new meanings of life following a spectacular turn. When asked why he got an idea to take John in the film, Nagesh said that he was too impressed with John's performance in 'Kabul Express' and Deepa Mehta's 'Water' . Nagesh added that all human beings are gamblers in real life, so there is no reason for a surprise that he gambled on John.

“I think the role of a very young girl’s relationship with an older man sought me out. You won’t believe this, but from the age of 16 I’ve been offered such a role three times”, says Jiah Khan excitedly as debut film will hit the screens tomorrow. “I wouldn’t like to make a career of unconventional films. I’ve grown up watching masala films. I fell in love with RGV’s Rangeela at the age of 13. Though I lived in London I only wore salwar-kameez. And I’d speak only in Hindi in school, never in English”, adds Jiah Khan.

After winning the British reality TV show "Celebrity Big Brother", Shilpa Shetty feels the small screen is where she belongs. "In a way I feel television is my true calling. Of course, I'm known as a film actress. And I'm proud of that label," Shilpa told in an interview.
A couple of Bollywood actresses came forward to claim they had been offered "Big Brother". "It was their choice if they didn't do it. I took up 'Big Brother' because they paid me my money and stuck to the clauses in our contract." But Shilpa finds comparisons with item girl Rakhi Sawant, who appeared on the Indian version "Bigg Boss", hurtful. "Sorry, but with due respects, 'Big Brother' is a hundred notches higher than 'Bigg Boss'. Honestly, 'Big Brother' this time was one of the most decent seasons. I was very clear that I was going to do nothing indecent. "It's the non-celebrity 'Big Brother' that's pretty obnoxious. There was no nudity or anything obnoxious in my show," said Shilpa. She made her maiden appearance on television for the first time as a judge for Sony TV's dance show "Jhalak Dikhla Jaa".

Minissha Lamba and mathematics don't quite gel together. While in school, she ironically won the multiple-choice quiz in the Mathematics Olympiad and was gifted the bestseller "Rebecca". And after all these years, she's all set to play that very character!
"Call it fate or whatever. I somehow managed to win the quiz and today I am doing Ananth Mahadevan's 'Anamika', which is a modern day adaptation of the book," Bollywood Trade quoted her as saying. "I read it in my childhood. I seriously don't know how I won the quiz. May be because of the multiple options that I had blindly ticked. I still get math nightmares!" "Anamika - The Untold Story" also stars Dino Morea and Koena Mitra.

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan does have some weaknesses, the main ones among them being bad taste in shoes and the fact that he ‘just works too hard’, says the author of an unauthorised biography of the actor. "Amitabh has a few weaknesses. For one, I think he has horrible taste in shoes. I also don't like his movies, especially ones like Lal Badshah and Shahenshah," Jessica Hines, who has penned the biography said.
"On a more serious note though, I think he just works too hard and that makes it difficult for him to remain objective about his work. I think he works very, very hard, and that makes it difficult for him to put some distance between him and his work. Then you cannot get objective about it. However, I can understand why he would want to work so hard because he is doing some of his best work at this point in his career," said Hines, whose book Looking For The Big B was released in London last month.

Jiah Khan is the buzz word in Bollywood. And all this not just because she makes onlookers nimble at her drenched self in Nishabd, but because she has immense talent to stand alongside Big B too. So it is quite natural that offers seek her path. And the latest in the list is Sanjay Gadhvi of Dhoom and Dhoom 2 fame. Looks like the director is trying to compensate for moving out of the Chopra camp! But Jiah is very skeptical about the offer as he wasn’t ready to divulge much about his project which was simply not acceptable to Jiah.

Vinod Mehra’s untimely death was a shock to the Hindi film industry but his daughter is sure capable of filling the void created by his death. Sonia Mehra has already started shooting for Victoria 203, the remake of the old version with the same name. The film crew is all in awe of the lady, who keeps on impressing them with her fresh talent. Jimmy Shergill who is starring opposite Sonia is very impressed by her acting skills and driving skills. “She rode the Victoria in the middle of the traffic and was able to give great expressions at the same time. It isn’t easy with so many cars passing by,” says Jimmy Shergill. But for Sonia, the whole idea of riding Victoria itself was interesting. “I didn’t have much trouble while rehearsing, but the real thing is different from rehearsals,” says Soniya. The producer Kamal Sadanah had enough trouble finding a Victoria for the movie so he got it custom made with antique car lamps.
