At the 10th Rajiv Gandhi Awards function held at the Jamshed Bhabha Theatre, NCPA, on August 12, Vivek was on stage, and had just finished performing to Beedi Jalaile with Koena Mitra, when on his way out, he stopped before Salman (seated in the front row) and suddenly, without warning, put his hands together and bowed before him!! Says Vijay Kalantri, chairman of the reception committee of the awards, seated next to Salman, "Vivek grabbed his (own) ears and bowed and mouthed 'bhai'. But Salman just shook his head."

According to sources, after Vivek finished performing item-numbers, he folded his hands and bowed before Salman as a sort of apology. The two actors have a history of not getting along, due to the presence of Aishwarya Rai in both their lives then. During the post party of Shootout At Lokhandwala, there was just one thing that everyone was talking about – early exit of Viveik Oberoi. Abhishek Bachchan’s arrival is touted as one of the reasons for it. Junior Bachchan had arrived at the party, not with Aishwarya though.
Likewise, Viveik had left before Abhishek’s arrival and the true reason for his early exit is not known but seems that Abhishek was much more than a reason for Viveik.
