What's common to macho man Sunny Deol and handsome hunk-cum-model, Arjun Rampal? Well, for a start, they both are feeling very confident after their resounding comebacks in 2007. While Sunny fired two salvos in the form of FOOL N FINAL and APNE, Arjun Rampal walked away with a lot of praise for his suave negative act in OM SHANTI OM. However, the similarity does not end there. Read the rest of this entry »

he success of the Deols' family-film Apne has given Sunny Deol a chance to rise and shine as never before. Sunny has taken several hard decisions. One of them is to turn director with a film called Man.
"My Apne writer Neeraj Pathak narrated this subject and I instantly fell for it. Unfortunately, we couldn't get the project on the road because I got busy with Apne. Now that Apne has been accepted so warmly, I've gathered the courage to revive that project. And yes I'll be directing and producing Man along with Neeraj." Interestingly, Sunny has given the film industry several talented directors including Raj Kumar Santoshi and Gurinder Chaddha (who made the aborted London for Sunny).

The Apne combo of father Dharmendra and sons Sunny and Bobby would team up for another film. "That's true! It took us more than a decade to get the right script. But it should be easier the next time. At the same time, I wish to add that we wouldn't hurry into our next project since Apne has worked. There'll be a sufficient gap for sure," Sunny said. It's said that he might direct a film again, after Dillagi. Read the rest of this entry »

A story published in a tabloid suggesting that Shilpa Shetty is upset with the Deols - Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby - for not allowing her to watch the premiere of "Apne" with them has Shilpa astounded. "On the contrary I'm more miffed with this fabrication than anything the Deols did or didn't do. I love the Deols, specially Dharamji, to death," Shilpa told from Paris. "Why would they treat me badly? And why would I take offence about the seating arrangement? The truth is Shamita and I had to attend a family function at night. We thought we'd attend the 'Apne' premiere and then go to the function. But the screening started very late, so we just showed our faces and had to leave. That's it. Read the rest of this entry »

Anil Sharma's APNE may have the rough and tough Deols starring in it, but besides being abundant in action, the Rs. 21-crore film has some heart-wrenching emotions too. Those who have had an occasion to see the film at a trial show, assert that. APNE is basically the story of a disgraced boxer (Dharmendra) who wants to get back his honour by making his elder son (Sunny Deol) a boxer of international repute, strikes a chord with the viewer.
However, it is the younger son (Bobby Deol) who steps in to fulfill his father's dream when the elder one refuses to become a boxer. The 3-hour long film (which is likely to be trimmed), boasts of a number of claptrap scenes. The title track, soulfully rendered by Sonu Nigam, is a tearjerker. With enhanced promotion, APNE seems poised to be a winner at the ticket-windows!

It seems that Sunny Deol hasn't dubbed for the long-in-the-making THE CHALLENGE. As one watches the promos of K.C. Bokadia's THE CHALLENGE, one gets a strong feeling that the voice one hears for Sunny Deol is not his own. Though one would love to hear otherwise, it seems quite apparent that someone else has dubbed for Sunny in the film in order to bring it to the completion mark and get it ready for the release.
The film has been in the making for around 4-5 years now and unlike BIG BROTHER which was announced years back but the actual shooting took place only last year, it has been just the opposite for THE CHALLENGE.

ust when Sunny Deol is standing at a crucial juncture of his career with two big films of his releasing within a space of four weeks, an age old film of his is threatening to loom large in the month of May. Come June 01 and a brand new exciting film of his, FOOL N FINAL, would be seeing a global release. Four weeks later, i.e. on June 29th, he is expected to create fire works once again as he comes together with director Anil 'Gadar' Sharma who brings the entire Deol family on screen for the first time ever in APNE. With films boasting of such good credentials, it is imperative to expect a lot happening for Sunny this summer. But ironically this is the time period that producer-director KC Bokadia has chosen for the release of his film THE CHALLENGE that was made around 4-5 years back. Read the rest of this entry »
