Filmmaker Karan Johar is breaking away from larger-than-life family soaps and fairytale romances. For a change, he will make a reality movie about terrorism called "Khan" without songs. The movie will star Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. Terrorism is too grim a subject to be associated with a Karan Johar movie. But, this time around, the filmmaker has opted for the real world. Bollywood writer-director Muzaffar Ali, whose period film "Umrao Jaan" still stirs the souls of viewers, says nowadays no Indian director has the sensibility to make a historical epic. "Poetry, painting, designing, writing all comes into a film, isn't it? But it is not easy to make a film," he said. "Today nobody has the sensibility to make a historical epic. Action-comedy is Akshay Kumar's forte and Nikhil Advani's "Chandni Chowk To China" seems to be just what the box office doctors ordered. Filmmaker Karan Johar's next movie is a tribute to his late father. He has decided to name his next production - Dostana - after the 1980 blockbuster of the same name made by his father, Yash Johar. The story is set in Miami and Karan's assistant - Tarun Mansukhani - will start shooting it, this summer. Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra lead the glamorous cast.Says Karan, "Tarun Mansukhani's brilliant script (about friendship between two guys played by Abhishek and John) is funny, sassy, and hilarious!"
