Esha Deol's character of a loud, crass and talkative Tamilian café owner in producer Kumar Mangat's comedy "One Two Three" was never meant to be region-specific initially. Ahswini Dheer, the talented sitcom director of "Office Office", has helmed the film and was so impressed with her Tamil lingo that he gave her character a makeover. "When Ashwini heard me chattering away in Tamil with my mother, who had come to visit me in Pondicherry, he loved the intonations and loud-and-soft dips and curves in our language," said Esha, who earned rave reviews for her performance in "Ankahee". Though Esha Deol has gyrated to the Kashmakash song in Rohit Shetty’s Sunday, the promotional video of the same song has been shot with singer-composer Shibani Kashyap.
As a result, the on-air promos of the number will have both Esha and Shibani dancing to the same track with a similar backdrop but alag-alag!
It is learnt that this move was Shibani’s idea to showcase herself as a performer. As an onlooker puts it, “Shibani has rendered the track, so she wanted to be part of it too. And she has been shot in a similar backdrop like Esha’s.”

This Friday's release Darling , Esha Deol plays the ghost of a dead mistress of an adulterous man. Even as she plays a ghost on the silver screen, Esha Deol believes in the existence of ghosts. Apparently, this belief is not without a reason. Esha says she has had some unpleasant experiences that she cannot explain logically. When Esha was shooting her first film Chura Liya Hai Tumne with Zayed Khan in Kerela, she had an experience she hasn't forgotten till today. After the day's shooting when Esha used to go to her room at night, she had a feeling during her sleep that someone was strangulating her. The reports of Esha Deol being signed for the part are completely untrue," Nandy - who heads Pritish Nandy Communications - told in a interview. Interestingly Esha's mother Hema Malini had been cast as Chandramukhi in a shelved version of "Devdas" directed by Gulzar. So who will finally play the danseuse-courtesan in yet another remake of Saratchandra Chatterjee's classic novel? Read the rest of this entry »
