Rumours are rife in the industry that there is more than meets the eye as far as the release date of Shah Rukh Khan’s 'Billoo Barber' is concerned. It was so far being said that the film, directed by Priya­darshan, would hit the screens on 24th October. Just this week, the release has been postponed to Diwali (Wednes­day, 29th October). But those in the know opine that even October 29 may not be the correct date.
It is felt that Shah Rukh Khan and his team have a secret up their sleeves insofar as the date of relea­se is concerned. 'Billoo Barber', it may be mentioned here, is the re­make of a Malaya­lam film. The Tamil version, Kuselan, had Rajanikanth in a special app­earance and it was released only recenly.

In 'Billoo Barber', Shah Rukh Khan plays the character portrayed by Rajani­kanth in 'Kuselan' – a superstar who returns to his village and meets his old friend who is a barber (Irrfan Khan in the Hindi film). Frankly, nobody knows what is the back story of the release date – or even if there is a back story at all!

Incidentally, now that 'Billoo Barber' has been announ­ced for 29th October, there might be a couple of producers who’d like to shift their release dates and avoid coming on Diwali, as originally planned.
