After their last film Taal, director Subhash Ghai and Anil Kapoor are back with their next movie Black & White. The film is being directed by Ghai himself who returns after a hiatus since his last directorial venture Kisna. Black & White says Ghai is a social drama, “It has been taken from real life but is a work of fiction. It touches upon many social issues. Our country is like a rainbow which has many colours and many characters. I have captured them all in my film.” The director, who celebrated his birthday at the music launch of the film recently, adds, “It is a gripping film which you will want to see till the end and take all the emotions home. Black & White concentrates on two thoughts, two people and two beliefs. It is the story of human love and hatred.”
Known for his penchant for making films on a grand scale the director has, for the first time, attempted a small budget film. “Yes, it was very difficult for me. I have always made films with large budgets and with lots of grandeur, but making Black & White on a smaller scale was a little difficult. I have always made films my way, films that I have always dreamt of making — Black & White is one such film. I think the audience is ready for a change with films like Khosla Ka Ghosla and Iqbal making it big,” he says. But Ghai can’t stay far from the charm of a big budget movie. “My next film Yuvraaj with Salman Khan in the lead is being made on a grand scale,” he says.
